Tony Oropeza

Founder & Chairman

I’ve worked in radiology since 2014, with experience in X-ray, CT, MRI, and time as a lead CT tech. When I moved into MRI, the challenge of finding reliable implant safety data became obvious—rescheduling several patients on one of my first training days showed me how outdated and inefficient the process was. In August 2024, a group text with my longtime friends Mike and Blake sparked the idea for WilhelmAI. We set out to build something that genuinely helps patients, supports MRI technologists, and improves workflow efficiency across healthcare networks. As Founder & Chairman, I focus on making sure my team has what they need to succeed and staying committed to creating a high-quality, mission-driven product. I’m driven by my patients, my fellow technologists, and especially my family—my wife, daughter, parents, sister and many more—who motivate me to build something meaningful and lasting.

Chief Technology Officer

I lead the product development and technical direction at WilhelmAI. Before becoming a software engineer, I spent nearly a decade in healthcare as a diagnostic medical sonographer. That experience gave me a deep respect for how fast imaging environments move — and how much clinicians rely on clear, accessible information to make safe decisions. At WilhelmAI, I’m focused on building technology that reduces friction for imaging teams and helps departments deliver safer, more efficient patient care.

Senior Consulting Advisor

Healthcare experience est. 2011. Recipient of The 2019 student clinical excellence award and The 2023 patient safety award; both of which were achieved at Sutter Mills Peninsula Medical Center one of "Americas 50 Best Hospitals". I like to say I've done or assisted in every type of clinical situation except deliver a baby. Every shift I've worked for the last decade there's a moment where I reflect on the healthcare system and ask myself "what can I do to leave a mark and make an efficient change?" . WilhelmAI is the beginning of a journey to answer that question.

I've spent the last 14 years working in radiology, specializing in X-ray, MRI, and CT, with a strong focus on excellent patient care and safety. With firsthand experience in the field, I've seen how much priority, communication, and efficiency impact the overall patient experience. That background has given me a clear understanding of what healthcare teams truly need to work safely and effectively. Now at Wilhelm Al, I'm helping build tools that streamline clinical workflows, support healthcare teams, and ultimately improve patient care.

Senior Research Technologist

I’ve been an X-ray and CT technologist for 12 years. Recently, I started working as an MRI technologist. Patient safety was always at the forefront of my MRI training and remains true in my day-to-day practice. Often times, a patient would come in for their MRI with a device/implant and little to no information about it. This would require additional time and resources to ensure their safety, which would result in a delay in patient care. I joined Wilhelm AI to stand at that forefront for a safer and more efficient patient care experience in MRI.

Fractional Chief Operating Officer

My background is in SaaS rather than medicine; since 2013 I’ve built my career across customer experience, starting as a video editor and growing into leadership roles spanning content, training, support, and localization. Over the past decade, I’ve led cross-functional initiatives that align product, operations, and customer-facing teams to deliver clear, reliable, and scalable experiences. As Wilhelm’s Fractional Chief Operating Officer, I bring this cross-functional expertise to help shape how the product, processes, and teams scale to support MRI technologists and clinical partners. I believe Wilhelm can transform not only the day-to-day reality of MRI workflows but also the broader patient experience, and I’m excited to help the team operationalize that vision under Tony’s leadership.
