Designed by technologists for technologists, Wilhelm is the AI-powered device search library that delivers instant, vendor-verified MRI safety answers. WilhelmAI finds the exact device, surfaces manufacturer conditions, and cites the source — so clinicians can act quickly and safely.

Wilhelm is also patent pending. Wilhelm does NOT own any medical device data or documentation and is simply a research tool. All clinical decisions are the sole responsibility of the technologist or clinician in practice.

There are two ways to use Wilhelm. With our AI-powered search, simply type as much information as possible about your situation or the device, and Wilhelm will try and narrow it down. You can talk to Wilhelm like a person in conversation or just type in a couple words. If you have exact details, use the advanced search feature for a targeted lookup.

Wilhelm will provide clear details on whether the device is safe, unsafe or conditional, as well as specific scan parameters. Data such as Max Field Strength, SAR, spatial gradient, and coil restrictions can be found, depending on what is sourced via official vendor documentation. Wilhelm will also link to the website of the device and the source material that was referenced.

All of the device information that is available has been manually QA'd and vetted by experienced technologists in the field. The data is only sourced from official sources. No guessing, just look up your device, and verify what Wilhelm offers in seconds.

With 32 million Americans alone having medical implants, our goal is to provide as many of those devices in the library. As of November 2025, Wilhelm can provide information on over 600 medical implants.
